I have a copy of vag-com / VCDS along with the HEX-USB+CAN lead which is compatible with recent (2005+) VWs, Audis, Seats and Skodas,
I purchased this wonderful piece of software to recode my car while upgrading to a multifunction / paddle shift steering wheel. It can also perform tricks like resetting the service due display and showing any faults detected in the car.
I am happy to let people use this software, at their own risk, for a modest £20. There is plenty of documentation on the web on how to use vag-com, and I will link to some resources from this site. The software itself has inbuilt help, for example, showing you what each part of a module code is for.
